New Brunswick Counseling Center drug-testing program is designed to detect the presence of alcohol, illicit drugs, or certain prescription drugs.
Conducting Drug Tests
We use a certified lab Atlantic Diagnostic Laboratories and follow other guidelines for drug testing. Before beginning drug testing, we ask the following questions
- Name of who is receiving testing?
- When are the drug tests given?
- Who pays for the drug testing?
- FOR DCF referrals, we required a Special Approval Request
- FOR WF/SAI referrals, we required
Tests are done by a trained collector when you visit our program to collect specimens.
To ensure accuracy, the specimen’s chain of custody must be continuous from receipt until disposal.
Types of Drug Tests
Drug tests vary, depending on what types of drugs are being tested for and what types of specimens are being collected. We used Urine, and saliva (oral fluid), as test specimens.
Tests are commonly used for the following categories of drugs:
#108 (ETG, Alcohol, Amphetamine/Methamphetamine, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Buprenorphine, Cocaine, Fentanyl, Marijuana, Methadone/EDDP, Opiates, Oxycodone, PCP, Kratom, K2, Tramadol, Creatinine, Oxidants, and pH)
