Individual Counseling
One-on-one counseling is provided in-person and via telehealth utilizing the following evidence-based practices:
- Motivational Interviewing: Motivational interviewing is a type of practical, empathetic, and short-term counseling that assists individuals in resolving ambivalent feelings and insecurities through discovering their internal motivation to enable behavioral change.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT is a type of talking therapy that teaches you coping skills for dealing with different problems. It focuses on how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and actions.
- Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R): CT-R is highly collaborative, person-centered, and strengths-based and focuses on developing and strengthening positive beliefs of purpose, hope, efficacy, empowerment, and belonging.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): is a type of psychotherapy that emphasizes taking action to achieve your goals and values, even in the presence of negative thoughts and emotions. Instead of avoiding or struggling with difficult emotions, clients learn to acknowledge and accept them as natural responses to life situations in order to move forward and live a more fulfilling life.
