Woodbridge Overdose Awareness Day
Join us August 16, 2026
NBCC/BCC participated in Woodbridge Overdose Awareness Day on August 16, 2026. Peer Recovery Specialist Richard and Counselor Alyssa represented the agency at the event and hosted an informational table for community members.
During the event, Richard and Alyssa distributed agency flyers and brochures, shared information about our substance use and behavioral health services, and helped community members learn more about available treatment, recovery support, and other resources. They also shared information about our RENEW Mobile Medical Unit, which will have a dedicated parking location in Woodbridge and is projected to begin providing services in the community this fall.
Overdose Awareness Day provides an important opportunity to remember those whose lives have been impacted by overdose, reduce stigma surrounding substance use and recovery, and connect individuals and families with resources that may help save lives. We appreciate the continued efforts of Woodbridge and its community partners to raise awareness, encourage important conversations about overdose prevention, and connect community members with support and resources.
Participating in events such as Woodbridge Overdose Awareness Day allows NBCC/BCC to strengthen community partnerships, increase awareness of available services, and continue supporting overdose prevention, recovery, and access to care throughout the communities we serve.
